It is worth it if you take your time to make the juice instead of going the easier route. The quote "the juice is worth the squeeze" means that it will be worth it if you work hard to achieve something. This quote applies to my life and my future because if I work hard to do something, it will benefit me later in life. As a student, I can work hard to keep my grades up, or I can do minimum effort and get bad grades. Getting good grades throughout school would be more beneficial because I can get scholarships to college. If I get good grades throughout school I will also get a better job. It is easier to make bad choices then it is to make good choices. Making good choices will be beneficial because I will have better things in life. I will be more successful if put more dedication into making good choices and getting good grades.
From doing this assignment, I have learned many new ways to remember terms. I have created multiple poster's to help me remember the definitions of my vocabulary terms. I have learned how to be more efficient on getting things done and managing my time. If I could change one thing about this assignment, it would be to not have as many words. I would also change how much time we had to complete this assignment. It was hard coming up with creative things for each poster, but my partner and I completed all of them. I think this assignment will help me remember the terms in the future and help me come up with ways I can remember terms. Do you believe that the government should hack into our phones and violate our rights? The FBI wanted Apple to create a new software that would hack into a person’s iPhone. It would be a violation of our rights if the government invaded our privacy and hacked into our phones. Apple refusing to help the FBI in their investigations was the right thing to do.
It is our rights as Americans to possess information without sharing it with the government. According to Randal G. Holcombe, author of Apple CEO was right to defend basics, “Basic American rights were at stake, and the purpose of law is to protect people’s rights.” Randal G. Holcombe also states that “The Fourth Amendment guarantees people have the right to privacy. Individuals have the right to possess information without having to share it with the government.” The Fourth Amendment states that we have the right to privacy. Letting the government hack into our phones would mean that we are letting them take away our basic rights. The FBI is violating the rights of citizens by hacking into their phones. Americans have the right to possess information without the government knowing. The government wants Apple to create a new software, so they can hack into iPhones. It is the company’s right to refuse to help the government in their investigations. Apple made the right choice by not helping the government with their investigations. Although the FBI would be violating our privacy, there is a risk of more terrorism if the FBI does not hack into some phones. According to Whitt Flora, author of Apple's refusal to cooperate harms FBI's counterterrorism efforts, “His action, now seemingly vindicated, nevertheless has set back the efforts of the FBI to stanch terrorism by at least three months.” There will still be terrorism even if Apple helped the government. Hacking into terrorists phones could even lead to more terrorism. Apple refused to help the government because it wanted to protect the value of its brand. If Apple created the software to hack into iPhones, fewer people would buy their products because they do not want to have their phones hacked. The government has no right to force Apple, and all other companies, to help them with their investigations. Terrorist countries could even get the software that would allow them to hack into iPhones letting them hack into our phones. The FBI wanted Apple to make a new software to hack into phones. According to Randal G. Holcombe, author of Apple CEO was right to defend basics, “The FBI wanted Apple to write new software to unlock the phone in order to help it search for the information. The government has no right to force anybody to involuntarily provide it services.” The government has no right to force a company to help them with their investigations. Apple would have to create a new software to unlock the phone because Apple never had the information the government was seeking. The author of Apple CEO was right to defend basics also stated that, “If the case had gone forward and the FBI had won, it would justify giving all governments the same powers the FBI wanted. When the time inevitably came, the U.S. government could hardly argue that a foreign government doesn’t have the same right to force companies to aid their investigations. If the FBI forced Apple to help them, foreign governments have the same right to force companies to help them. If a foreign government wanted to force a company to help them, the U.S. government could not argue that the foreign governments have the same right as the U.S. government. Apple refusing to help the FBI was the right thing to do. It is our right as Americans to possess information without sharing it with the government. The Fourth Amendment guarantees people have the right to privacy. It is also a company’s right to refuse to help the government with its investigations. Apple never had the information the government was seeking and they would be required to create a new software to hack into phones. It would be a violation to our rights and the Fourth Amendment if the government hacked into our phones. Week of January 23rd - 27th

Many people dream of becoming famous, but is the celebrity lifestyle as great as it seems? Many people think the celebrity lifestyle would be glamorous, but in reality it brings an enormous amount of stress and pressure. Celebrities can’t make true friends because they have to wonder if they like them for who they are, or for what they have. I do not believe fame and fortune can truly make you happy.
The celebrity lifestyle makes it difficult for celebrities to be truly happy. According to the article “Can Fame and Fortune Make You Happy?” the author states that "Famous people can't so much as walk their dogs or tie their shoes without being gawked at, photographed, tweeted about, or Instagrammed." Celebrities can’t have normal lives. According to a study at the University of Rochester, having close relationships, time to focus on personal growth, and connections to your community is all things that derives from true happiness. Celebrities find it very difficult to have close relationships, time to focus on personal growth, and connections to their community. A lot of people do believe that fame and fortune can make you happy, though. Celebrities get amazing perks, like trips around the world and free clothing from top designers. Some celebrities make more money on one movie than others make in a lifetime. According to the article “Can Fame and Fortune Make You Happy?” the author states that "To outsiders, constant attention might seem glamorous. In reality, though, it brings an enormous amount of stress." Some celebrities like the constant attention, but others feel stressed out all the time. Most celebrities get criticized through the media because of their looks, eating habits, or based on the way they are acting in public. The celebrity lifestyle brings an enormous amount of stress and pressure. Celebrities get amazing perks and they have a lot of money, but do these things really make them happy? According to the article “Can Fame and Fortune Make You Happy?” the author states that "It can be difficult for a celebrity to trust others and to make and keep true friends." True happiness derives from having close relationships, time to focus on personal growth, and connections to your community. Celebrities can’t have close relationships because they have to worry if their friends really like them for who they are or what they have. Celebrities do not have time to focus on personal growth with all of the stress and pressure they have. The media influences them, and many people tell them how they should act in public, how they should dress, and what they should eat. Some celebrities get nervous walking out of their door, so how would they have connections to their community if they don’t want to leave their house? In the article “Can Fame and Fortune Make You Happy?” the author states that “Beyoncé has said that though she likes attention when she’s onstage, she’d be happier if she could “cut it off” when she isn’t performing and just enjoy her life.” Celebrities might seem happy, but they are not truly happy. True happiness does not come from money and amazing perks, it comes from the relationships you have with others, yourself, and your community. The celebrity lifestyle might seem glamorous to regular people, but celebrities are not truly happy. Celebrities can’t go outside without being photographed. Celebrities have to deal with a lot. If celebrities mess up, they will get criticized on the media and they will have a bad reputation. Some people criticize celebrities based on what they are eating. Some celebrities even get criticized based on who their friends are, or who they are dating. The media influences the way celebrities act. Celebrities get a lot of hate on their social media. Some celebrities even get their phones hacked. The celebrity lifestyle brings a lot of pressure and stress. True happiness does not come from having a lot of money, or having a ton of fans. True happiness comes from having close relationships, time to focus on personal growth, and connections to your community. Celebrities might seem happy, but are they truly happy? Over Christmas break, I did many fun things with my friends and family. In the beginning of Christmas break I went shopping with my mom and my sister and I also went shopping with my dad to buy a present for my mom. On Christmas Eve, I went to my grandma’s house and we opened presents and we watched the football game. After that we went to my cousins house for another Christmas party. We ate dinner there and we opened gifts. We also play a game called White Elephant, which we play every year. Then we did the saran wrap challenge and I got the biggest prize which was $20.
On Christmas day, I spend a lot of time with my family. My family opens presents and then we go to my grandma’s for the last Christmas party. My family opens presents in the morning and I recieved Beats headphones, a speaker, and many clothes. My sister and I also bought a Keurig coffee maker for my parents. After we finish opening presents, we go to my grandma’s house for dinner. Many of my cousins are there and we usually get family pictures. I have a lot of cousins that live in different states and some are from different countries. My great grandma and grandpa have a Christmas party, and there is usually a hundred people there and everyone from different states and countries come. Many of my cousins are the same age as me, so we usually hang out with each other. My cousin got in a 4-wheeler accident before Christmas and had to get surgery, so we went and saw him on Christmas. The rest of my break consisted of relaxing and hanging out with my family and friends. My mom, sister, and I went shopping and I used some of the gift cards that I had received for Christmas. I mostly relaxed during the rest of my break on the days that I didn’t have practice. I also watched a lot of movies on Netflix and Grey’s Anatomy. I had Lorin Walcher over and I went to my cousin’s house on New Year’s Eve and it was also her birthday. I went go-karting with her and we went out to eat on the last day of break. Over Christmas break, I did many fun things with my friends and family. Currently I am in the 7th grade, and my grade point average for the 1st nine weeks was 4.0. I enjoy working with children and watching shows like Grey’s Anatomy. I do not like jobs that would require you to sit in an office, or work with computers. My interests have led me to my number 1 career choice. When I grow up, I want to become a physician assistant.
I will become a physician assistant by getting all A’s and B’s throughout high school, and getting into a good college. According to the Ohio Means Jobs website, “Physician assistants need the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences, and combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.” I will be able to accomplish my goal of becoming a physician assistant by my current habits. I get all A’s and I will work hard to continue getting good grades throughout high school. I take school seriously and I hope to make it into a good college. I will work hard to get better at the skills I need to be a physician assistant, like critical thinking, active listening, and reading comprehension. To be a physician assistant, I need to study things like anatomy, biology, and psychology. According to Become a PA, “Many PA programs also require prior healthcare experience with hands-on patient care.I can get health care experience by being a medical assistant, paramedic, or a Peace Corps volunteer…. You’ll typically need to complete at least two years of college coursework in basic and behavioral sciences before applying to a PA program, which is very similar to premedical studies.” I would have to get additional health care experience before I could become a physician assistant. I will also have to study classes in high school that will help me with becoming a physician assistant. A physician assistant would be a great job because it could lead me to other great jobs in the future. According to the Ohio Means Jobs website, “The yearly projected openings for this job is 110 openings per year. There is currently 2,090 employed physician assistants.” This job is in demand, and it is also will continue to grow in the future. The salary for a physician assistant in Ohio is around $101,190. I plan on moving up in careers in the future and this job could help with that. I will work hard to get all A’s throughout high school and I will get into a good college, so I can become a physician assistant. A physician assistant would be a great job because it is a high paying job, and it is an in demand job. Career Day gave me an understanding of what I want to be when I grow up. When I grow up, I want to become a physician assistant. Before Career Day, I did not know that much about money and what I was going to do after I graduated from high school. I knew that I wanted to do something involved with health and medicine, or something agricultural. I did not know of many jobs before Career Day. I did not know how many opportunities I have after I graduate, but I do know that life will be hard. However, I did not know how to save money and be ready for unexpected things that could happen in life. At the Reality Store, I learned how to save my money and how to be ready for the unexpected things in life. I realized how much you would have to give up if you had children and also that having children will cost a lot. At the Reality Store, there were stations set up to help us learn how to save money and be prepared for life. There were things that I had know clue you had to buy, and things that cost a lot more than I thought they did. I definitely learned a lot more about life from the Reality Store. At the end of the day we listened to speakers that told us about there jobs. The first one I went to was from OSU ATI and she told us about the many agricultural jobs that you can have. Her job was to speak to students about agricultural jobs that you can study at OSU ATI. The second speaker I went to was a graphic designer for Iowa State football. He makes designs of football players and he gets paid for it. I never knew that you could get paid for things like he does. The final people that I went to was from Fisher Titus, and both of the ladies talked about many of the jobs that are available. Many of the jobs that they talked about interested me. I learned about many jobs that I never knew were available during Career Day. Hillary Clinton has smart plans for America. I would support this party because sugary drinks cause diabetes, obesity, and tooth decay. I you had tax on soda then it would limit the amount of soda you would buy because it would cost more. It also provides more money for cities to use.
I think having tax on soda and sugary drinks is a good idea. Having tax on soda will improve the health of children and families. Roughly 13 percent of African American and Latino adults are diagnosed with diabetes, and 7.6 percent of white adults are diagnosed. Many people with diabetes still drink soda everyday. The bad thing about having tax on soda is that it will hurt small businesses and customers living in expensive places that are struggling to survive. People who do not want tax on soda also say that city leaders will use the money however they want, despite the talk of putting it towards health programs. I would support the claims of the party that would want to have tax on soda. I would support this party because soda and other sugary drinks cause diabetes, obesity, and tooth decay. Having tax on soda would decrease the amount of sugary drinks you take in because it would cost more to buy these drinks. There is some bad things about having tax on sugary drinks, though. If you had tax on soda it would hurt small businesses and customers struggling to survive. There is many good points of having tax on sugary drinks, but there is also many bad points. I would still choose to support the claims of the party that would want to have tax on sugary drinks. By. "Battle Lines Drawn over Soda Tax." Newsela. N.p., n.d. Web. 18 Oct. 2016. Screenflow is a application for your computer that allows you to record your screen. It can record the screen, audio, and yourself. You can edit the Screenflow after you are done recording and delete a section that you messed up on, or it will let you add annotations, scales, text boxes, call outs, and more. It allows you to record your screen when doing a lesson, or the student can record their screen and go back to it and watch the lesson how many times they need to. In my tutorial I showed you how to add scales, annotations, text boxes, call outs, and the basic things in Screenflow. I also showed you how to split a clip, delete a clip, and add transitions. Scales are where you zoom in the screen and get a bigger picture of where you are talking about. Call out are when it shows where you mouse is and zooms up on it. Annotations are like arrows and boxes you can put in to show where you are talking about. Screenflow would be useful in the future because you can go back and watch a lesson from your teacher if you needed review. You could watch the lesson and see it again to learn it like you were in the classroom during the time it was recorded. It is useful for your education to review and learn lessons. It is also good for students who did not understand the lesson. They can go back to the lesson and watch it and review the lesson multiple times. My mother, Kelli Gahring, is my hero because she is a hard working and intelligent person. She is a mother of two, and she is a banker. She inspires me to achieve great things and be the best I can in life. She always listens to me and helps me with my problems. She is someone you can talk to and she will listen and help you. My mother is a person who does not care if she has to cancel her plans to help one of us, or still has to get us ready for school in the morning even though she is sick, or doesn't feel good.

I will work hard in class, study, and get my homework done on time to achieve my goal of getting good grades. To get on the national team I will have to do my best and work hard at tryouts and at practices. My long-term goals are to graduate with a 3.75 GPA or higher and to either become a vet or something to do with animals. I also want to play college volleyball and I hope to get a scholarship too!
