Many people dream of becoming famous, but is the celebrity lifestyle as great as it seems? Many people think the celebrity lifestyle would be glamorous, but in reality it brings an enormous amount of stress and pressure. Celebrities can’t make true friends because they have to wonder if they like them for who they are, or for what they have. I do not believe fame and fortune can truly make you happy.
The celebrity lifestyle makes it difficult for celebrities to be truly happy. According to the article “Can Fame and Fortune Make You Happy?” the author states that "Famous people can't so much as walk their dogs or tie their shoes without being gawked at, photographed, tweeted about, or Instagrammed." Celebrities can’t have normal lives. According to a study at the University of Rochester, having close relationships, time to focus on personal growth, and connections to your community is all things that derives from true happiness. Celebrities find it very difficult to have close relationships, time to focus on personal growth, and connections to their community. A lot of people do believe that fame and fortune can make you happy, though. Celebrities get amazing perks, like trips around the world and free clothing from top designers. Some celebrities make more money on one movie than others make in a lifetime. The celebrity lifestyle brings an enormous amount of stress and pressure. Celebrities get amazing perks and they have a lot of money, but do these things really make them happy? The media influences them, and many people tell them how they should act in public, how they should dress, and what they should eat. Some celebrities get nervous walking out of their door, so how would they have connections to their community if they don’t want to leave their house? In the article “Can Fame and Fortune Make You Happy?” the author states that “Beyoncé has said that though she likes attention when she’s onstage, she’d be happier if she could “cut it off” when she isn’t performing and just enjoy her life.” Celebrities might seem happy, but they are not truly happy. True happiness does not come from money and amazing perks, it comes from the relationships you have with others, yourself, and your community. The celebrity lifestyle might seem glamorous to regular people, but celebrities are not truly happy. Celebrities can’t go outside without being photographed. Celebrities have to deal with a lot. If celebrities mess up, they will get criticized on the media and they will have a bad reputation. Some people criticize celebrities based on what they are eating. Some celebrities even get criticized based on who their friends are, or who they are dating. The media influences the way celebrities act. Celebrities get a lot of hate on their social media. Some celebrities even get their phones hacked. The celebrity lifestyle brings a lot of pressure and stress. True happiness does not come from having a lot of money, or having a ton of fans. True happiness comes from having close relationships, time to focus on personal growth, and connections to your community. Celebrities might seem happy, but are they truly happy?

I enjoyed your essay because of your third paragraph - you took the perks of being a celebrity and flipped them to emphasize the stress of stardom.
